Hi All,
Trying to decide on a new detector,
I hunt mostly salt mud and sand, some shallow water
hoping someone can give me feedback on this detectors performance.
From what I've been told, only multi frequency and pulse machines
do well here.
I have experience with Safari, Etrac, and excal here, they all work well.
Been trying out a T2, doesn't seem to like the wet salty stuff,
overloads if you submerge the coil. (the manual does state this)
Is the deus a dual or multi frequency detector?
No need for that, Does it work well is all I need to know.
Thanks everyone! great digs to You! Herbie.

The Deus has a beach mode but I haven't tested it myself. Not to many salt water beaches here in Oklahoma. ha ha It has 3 freq it can run on but only 1 at a time.

Holler if you have other questions and be sure to mention this forum when you do for best deal! ;)

Thanks Bart !!
I really appreciate the help.
I've bought and resold two detectors recently trying to find one that performs better than
the Minelabs in these conditions.
I want the third to be a keeper.

The Deus might preform well but be hard to expect a single frequency machine to compete with Minelabs multifrequency for the beach and all the minerals.

I think the Deus can compete with any top of the line detector out there in the dirt. But when it comes to salt water I have my doubts. I have never tried mine at the beach. But I do know that the communication is broken with the coil submerged. I would stick with the Excal for the beach. JMHO.

Thanks again Bart And Goodmore!
Sound words.
It appears I have the best equipment for my conditions.
Gotta concentrate on those iffy signals to pull any more from my favorite sites!

I had the Deus for yonks ,and I have to be truthful I detect the beaches at Brighton UK ,if your going to do the top of the beach down to the water line its fine ,I use full tones ,not beach mode,Ive got a Sovereign and the Deus if I was forced to make a decision ,like I could only own one machine bearing in mind I live right on the beach, its a no brainer Sovereign Sovereign Sovereign...
