I am having a beach issue as well. I get it GB and it's ok but when I try to pinpoint in salt water, then it goes nuts, any idea what's going on? And yes I have cleaned my cool and cover after every use [emoji6]. Thanks!

Do you have the antenna kit? If not the controller may not be able to pick up a clean signal from the coil if the coil is submerged more than an inch or two.

Used mine on the beach to day. Wife had hers. Only way to get MOST of the false signals to go away was to bump up the silencer A LOT. Was using wet beach w/ 3 reactivity then in the dry sand could change to 2 reactivity.

Not impressed at all with the Deus on the beach. Doesnt matter too much since i own an old Fisher 1280 X which I'll use there next time.

Rarely hunt anything but farm fields. The Deus excels there.

Try jacking up the silencer but beware of knocking out gold.

Hi,
the Deus is not the wet salt beach expert - there are other, better choices.

Besides that it reacts also partially sensitive to power lines (in ground or in air), so if those are near and not well isolated you can go mad.

One time I had a coil go mad during sweetwater usage. Figured water entered the electronics compartment. Had of course also an impact later on dry ground and got solved by warranty replacement.

The Deus is not a salt water beach detector regardless what the manufacture says. Sure you can use it on the beach, but how well.

However read this before ya wrap it around a tree. http://www.metaldetectingintheusa.com/files/explanation-of-emi.pdf Turn off the damn cell phone.

Detectors that put out more than one freq at a time work well in the wet salt water sand. Even in the dry sand, it was wet at one time. Excel's, CZ-20/21, Beach Hunter ID, SOV GT, blow the socks off the Deus in that environment.
