John Adams, patriot during the Revolution, member of Congress and representative of same to European leaders. first Vice President of the United States under Washington, 2nd President of the United States of America. His son John Quincy also became President. That piece probably dates late 1790's and is awesome. He died July 4, 1826 within hours of the death of his political rival, Thomas Jefferson.

Great find. Those kind of finds are what I look for and is the reason I love detecting. I could care less about finding modern jewelry or coins. I hunt the old place that are just fields now and woods. Congrats bud. I vote banner.

My hunting partner found one at heritage auctions that sold a few years back and they have only handled 2 .. They say there are less than 10 known examples known to exist.. holy cow find of a life time!

no remote on stem and was on a site using my pitch program that just tells you ferrous or non ferrous really. I did check the vdi at the house in 14 kh was jumping from the 30s to 50s and up all over the place according how it got waved in front of the coil.
