Got out yesterday with the XP Deus HF Elliptical and saved some colonial relics and coins. The highlights were the half reale and blow hole button.

Thanks... super hunt!!! Congrats again man!!

You will notice a big difference between the 2 coils immediately after use! The elliptical coil is very very stable and quiet and reactive. The x35 coils are not as quiet, but good for general hunting for depth, surprising depth at 25kHz.

my settings for the elliptical: 28kHz, Reactivity 3, Silencer -1, Sens 90, 3 Tone (1 and 2 tones are set very low kHz, tone breaks at 10 and 15, 3 tone set highest kHz for non ferrous), Audio Resp 5 and ground balance is very important for depth.

Yeah I've owned the 9" hf round coil for about a year now and absolutely love it.. hasn't come off since I put it on!!! Lol... just wanted to have some options with the elliptical and 11" x35... the elliptical should do pretty well at 74khz up in gold country nugget shooting... 11" x35 for some deep silver in the pounded parks here in Sacramento...

Thanks for the settings... I will give them a shot when I get them on Thursday...

I usually do a pumping ground balance and then adjust it manually if needed.. What is your method?

What are your first 2 tones set at? Khz wise... also what disc and iron volumes are your running?

I have tried all methods so many times and from experience it depends on the site (of course I would say that, right?). But really it is simple, most neutral soil will be around 88 conductivity. I always start there. Start detecting and watch your ground conductivity suggestion number at the top right of the controller. It bounces around a bit depending on the site. Most sites that I hunt are old relic sites loaded with old iron so I watch and come up with an average number, then I reduce the number by one. So most of the time in Savannah with mild soil I run at 87. Now Tennessee and Kentucky is mineralized and run around 76 or 77. The higher the frequency you use, the less important ground balance is, but still important with the Deus. You can tell that your ground balance is off by the way a target sounds. A high conductor target 5" deep should sound crisp and sweet. When the ground balance is off the sound is different and if its way off you may not hear the target.

First 2 tones are set at 120 kHz, 3rd tone at 994 (or what ever the highest is).

Iron volume is set at 1, 2 or 3 depending on the site. I like to hear the iron.

Disc is the first tone break and set at 10.

Much appreciated!!! And great write up by the way... thank you... Yeah my ground here in the local parks aren't to bad... most of the time 83-87... but gold country is a different story... hahaha... tough going out there...

I run a similar program to that as well... only difference is the first 2 tones are 202khz... basically like garys ultimate program in a sense... but with disc 10, iron volume 1, reactivity 2 or 3 depending on site.
