My finds from yesterday's hunt with the ORX using the HF Elliptical Coil- Coin Fast- Frequency 14.4kHz, Reactivity 3, Iron On. My battery ran out at the end of the hunt, so the video is missing a few of the finds shown. Finds include an 1853 Trime, General Service Eagle cuff button, 192- something Mercury Dime, carved lead cross.

Great video, you've got me wanting to go out and shovel a foot of snow and get to digging. I'm paying close attention to your review on the orx as that is on my short list of my next purchase. I made a lot of good finds with the deus but let them go for various reasons. Keep em coming.

lead cross...Oak Island? awesome job, finding a trime is crazy sweet. the cross is very cool too, somebody made that by hand (one way or another). you flat get the swinging time in and it shows

Thanks for the video, I noticed on your first target that you said "sounded good" when you dug it it the signal kind of dies out but you can here a small squeak in the pile you dug out. Is there any reason you didn't keep going after that little squeaker?

Yes, from experience if the signal gets much weaker or disappears after dug up and in the plug or pile then its either junk or iron. I make mistakes just like anyone else and can miss good targets sometimes. However, this site in particular has so much iron, coal and bits of various junk metal scattered all over and in this instance I was sure that the squeak left in the plug was trash. I have gone back through some of my videos and wondered why I didn’t chase a signal here or there. Then I remember what I was hearing and feeling at the time, because the video is a good representation of the event, but only a representation and other factors that affect my decision to dig or not dig are influenced by these factors not caught on video and 99% of the time I’m sure that I made the right decision to chase or not chase a signal.

i have found with the Deus that once a plug is opened and there is a small target in the hole like a dime the signal often disappears. I gave up on those at first but after a bit I thought that if the detector said that there was something there i kept digging and often it was a dime. don't give up on squeakers.
