you may get a kick out of this

This is a platform i was helping salvage in the Gulf of Mexico.
200 Fsw at one platform and 250 Fsw under the burned one
most of the work is being done in Saturation diving.
i was there for surface support
we were also re routing a 30" pipeline from the burned one to the unburned one

Looks like a fire that would have lit the night sky for a hundred miles around.

Looks like the guy on that platform didn't read the "no smoking" sign.

Re: you may get a kick out of this

Now a full year after the initial post I want to know is this a BP owned rig? How many men were killed here? Until the recent disaster with the deep BP platform those were just interesting pictures. Watching the news I have heard others claim there is a pattern of safety violations and big fines levied against BP. But what's a 20 million fine when you first quarter's profits were in the billions. Polluting the ocean and killing people is just part of doing 'business.' jim
