Liberty Ships Cargo Manifests

I am trying to conduct some research concerning several Liberty Ship wrecks and was curious if anyone has had success in finding cargo manifests from the Liberty Ships during WWII?

The cargo manifests really wont do you much good since they used code words for money and gold and munitions in case they got attacked by U boatsThe U boat captains always asked after they attacked the ship and after the sinking what was onboard.Most survivors didnt say anything.For example.Rice could have been a code name for gold bars.or Oreo cookies could have been a code name.but then again they could have had rice and cookies on board.You would have to get the logs of the ship but that would be impossible cause they toss them overboard when the ship got torpedoed and was sinking.And the log books were weighted down with lead.Your best bet would be to find a survivor that was young at the time of the sinking that would know what was on board.
