I've been looking at building the same setup for shallow use. (And yes - I am open water and nitrox certified)

Did you rig it with the "Y" for two lines?

How did the topside portion with the boogie board do in the waves? Enough flotation?

Water was calm when we went. Only have one line right now. Going to put a T or Y connection on it soon.
The boogie board seems like a really well suited platform for a tank float. I'll post up more pics and info later.

In honor of Harvest and his thoughtful and valuable contribution to this thread I'm going to name the float Jenny after Forest Gump's shrimp boat. Can't be stopped!

Hardware location is about perfect. Keeps the nose up and it's plenty stable and has plenty of spots to attach gear as needed. The hardware also provided a post for mounting the dive flag.

Going to upgrade the hose to a shorter food grade hose and put it that T connection to run a second airline. Not sure what total costs have been so far but it's pretty low.

how did you attach the tank? I assume its underslung, but cant see how its attached to the board?

It rides underneath. The first attaches to that ring in top / central location. The bottom of the is straddled by paracord between the lower / outside points.

The weight is better balanced with the tank more toward the rear.

You better have a storage air tank,filters and a big enough motor to supply air for two. Some can be hard to breath without storage air tanks. Then if you do any underwater work on top of that. You also need a Low pressure regulator. I'm looking into getting one myself. Theirs one Hookah out their for a reasonable price. Think it's called {Hookah max} It has storage tanks ,cheep, easy to work on and complete and ready to go. Just be careful with fumes and crazy people that come up to dive flags. They don't know what they are. I also heard that the Honda motors are hard to start. They have new motors out that are real easy to start. Good luck
