BBrick81, first off - welcome aboard TreasureNet. I would start with the books that I have listed below, there are many others that I have in my collection that are based on Florida wrecks, but these will get ya started.

Complete Wreck Diving, a guide to diving wrecks - Henry Keatts and Brian Skerry
The Treasure Diver's Guide - John S. Potter, Jr.

Can anyone suggest some good books on underwater salvage or treasure hunting?

Thanks,

Check out this online Treasure Hunting video. Its a few years old but still shows the basics of hunting with a metal detector.

Out of the blue..any one brave enuf to salvage japanese battleship? Upper deck littered with shoes, books, shreds of ceramic, artifacts (both nice and weird looking), metals (not normal in dimension and weight+heat resistant), ming dynasty plate and jars, most important, place is full of live ordinance (bullets and munition for main guns and anti aircraft). Ship at least 800ft in length.
