    anyone know anything about this?

We got a bunch of old dolls out of one of the storage units we bought at auction. This one appears (to the totally untrained eye) to be the oldest so I was wondering if anyone here was a doll expert that could let me know an approximate value, age etc. Sure would appreciate the help!

Ceramic right sis? Can you tell what the letter is on the back there? There is value in the ceramic dolls, how much? I'm no expert.

her feet and shins, hands and forearms and the head and upper chest are all porcelain?? the rest of her body is some sort of fabric stuffed. The letter looks like some oriental symbol and is the only marking I found on her.

Your doll was made in the 1970's and was bought by tons of collectors from an ad in Readers Digest.

She is affectionly called Walda, as she pops up, all over the place.

She has little value, as they were so common. But oh, you'll see them up for sale on ebay, usually because someone thinks they have a real treasure.

PS: Have you ever played the game Mahjong - you'll see that same mark/character on a game piece. Doll was made in China.

The mark on the back is Japanese. I spent some time living there as a teenager and I remember it clearly. I am unsure what it represents, but it is definitely Japanese.
