What is it? I don't get it?

Some sort of doll......made of wood.......looks like a African American taxi driver to me, but why?
I don't get it.......was in a box with other 50's toys in a abandoned house.
Any value???

Oh yes ! You should be able to play with him on a table . Make him walk etc. If hand made more valuable , Over 50.00 depending on size. That is just a guess.

It's a dancing puppet. What you do is take a plank that is about 8" or 10" wide, 1/2" thick and a couple feet long. You sit on one end of the plank, with the rest sticking out in front of you, you hold the puppet by the stick, with the feet touching the plank and start tapping the plank behind the puppet. It appears to be dancing to anyone looking at it from the front.
