    24K Gold plated L-rods?

I have been using solid brass L-rods to dowse for gold and have had pretty good success during my indoor practice. Just recently I tried it outdoors by having my wife hide a nugget in the back yard but not buried, just where ever she could hide it under or behind something. And I was able to find it each time, although I had some false alarms where the rods would cross but the nugget wasn't there.

Gold is my specialty and my favorite thing to prospect for, but up to now I have never tried to find gold by dowsing. I'm still new to dowsing and I know there is no substitute for practice.

However I am wondering since some dowsers use a witness to aid in discrimination. Would plating the rods in 24K gold be even better, especially if you only want to use them exclusively in the quest for gold?

    Has anyone tried this?

    Sincerely,
    Buddy~

So, I assume those are gold nuggets under the Liquid tape. Is that what Dell means as a larger conductor? Would larger nuggets work even better? Is there an optimum spot on the rods for placement? And would placing the nuggets closer to the handle make the rods less sensitive or more so? A lot of questions I know but the answers could save me a lot of trail and error. Thanks,

    Buddy~

Hey Buddy….I have baited rods for Gold and Silver. They are on the tips of the rods. For stuff like Charcoal to find old buried camp fires, or black powder residue to find closed entrances to caves and even to locate Green Tic-Tacs on my lawn I use 35 mm film canisters put up on my rods as close to my hands as I can get them. I like to keep my rods balanced as much as I can…I am a cheap when it comes to my rods..Art

It's even been tried with 18K gold rods.

From a mental discrimination stand point it will work to influence your mind as to the type of metal you are searching for but usually doesn't work any better than using a piece of "Bait" Gold, or writing the word "Gold" on a piece of paper and carrying it with you.

From a physical discrimination stand point the Gold plating will have only a very slight influence on the harmonics of physical discrimination, and not as well as using a Gold conductor containing a larger volume of Gold.

Obtaining 100% target discrimination every time is very difficult because of the many variables. Consider 70% to 85% a good average, and of course, from there you can always strive for perfection.

Have a prosperous, healthy, and happy New Year! Dell
This is an excellent suggestion! Though, do be aware that once your dowsing rods learn to read, you'll find they start stealing the business section out of your paper every morning.
We all know there's no such thing as a "hunted out" location.  Let's stop using that phrase to describe a park out of which you just dug a pile of coins!  Obviously that particular place wasn't "hunted out", right?

I tried a 24k goldleaf sheet wrapped around the tips secured with a piece of heatshrink. Gave them to a friend in Denver. I'll have to make another set I guess. I like the liquid black tape idea! Aw yes another use!
I know it's here, just need a bigger coil!

Goldplating the rods. It depends, what suits you better.

My personal opinion is to try alternatives, experiment and draw your own conclusions.
Try and hold gold coins together with your rods.
Take off your shoes and socks, bearfoot.
Earth yourself. Place a copper wire round your ankle with a nail in the otherside, and pot the nail into the ground.
Try it under the moon, try it under a shade, not directly under the sun. Try... try... try... and keep records, time of the day, temperature, humidity, etc.

This is a secure way to start seeing what is ''working'' and what's not.
And don't forget, it is very important, when you are dowsing, your mind should be concentrated on gold, not on the girls with whom you will spend the gold you find !!! (this is from my own experience !!!)

I hope to meet you down in Rio, one day !!!

Should I also try swinging a dead cat around over my head at midnight during a full moon?

Just kidding......Thanks for the suggestions and would love to travel to Rio.
