Yellow line around some good vein signals, yellow circles placer gold/silver. Green X for archaeological signal. Green circles could be an old mining site, possibly even tunnels or natural cave. Red X buried silver coins, red circle..... ??? thought the signal seemed a lot like bullion, but if not, must be a pocket of high grade ore.

Wow! Thanks Red Desert!

I wasn't sure what would come up on this area. This area is known for some old mining sites (topaz, amazonite and zircon). One of your placer circles is very near (within 100 ft or less) of where the USGS has registered a site where gold has been found. Can't wait til the snow melts to check out these places. Also, most of your placer circles, are located in or near a small tributary off of a major creek.

You could be very right about the high grade ore. But I will try to check out all spots.

Much appreciated! :icon_thumright:

Thanks! Glad to hear that, but I need to also mention facts about gold in dowsing results. Small amounts of fine gold concentrated into placer deposits, can fool even the best dowser sometimes, may seem like a gold treasure....especially gold bars. The opposite can be true, we think it is just a rich pocket of ore, then learn gold bars were located and lost at the spot. A study should always be done on a site to figure out the potential for productive mining. One thing you can count on is, the best gold that area will be where dowsers get a hit. Any dowsing hit which seems to be gold bars should be checked out.

"area is known for some old mining sites (topaz, amazonite and zircon)"

I hadn't really checked for gemstones. White circles mark spots where there is some kind of gemstone or crystal. A couple of them get zircon, then others topaz, not sure what everything could be.

Thank you Red and Jon. This is some tricky mountainous areas and I do know that smoky quartz is abundant. I can't wait to go out and check it out.

I have a few more pics that I will post for some more dowsing feedback. Thanks so much.

Smoky quartz, the photos I've seen usually are crystal points. I think that might help explain the signals like a crystal....although I did get a couple spots for Topaz. There are rockhounds and mineral collectors who really like smoky quartz.

I marked gemstone signal areas with a "T" which might have some topaz.
