I don't think everyone who posts a map and said they map dowsed it, is really a map dowser. I've suspected this for at least 2-3 years now.....

Huh ?? But .... what about the anecdotal evidence ? There are certainly people who'll come forward, claim to have done it successfully. And point to goodies that they found . Even with photographs and videos sometimes. Are you disputing that ?

BTW: Not saying that perhaps someone didn't "find" something in this way (hence they are sincere in their claims). But .... are you saying that perhaps they can attribute it to some other reasons, and not map-dowsing ?

... I don't think there is that much gold just washing around in shallow streams waiting for someone to find.

Ok then, I'll be the devil's advocate here then: If you "don't think" that, then .... what about the video ? Isn't that conclusive, that thumb-size nuggets are just littering the tops of shallow streams like that ?

BTW: If you're familiar with how much nuggets like those would weigh, and the value of gold, it's easy to see that the fellow picked up 10's of thousands worth of gold, to put on that plate, right ? Sshheessk, and just what was visible to the naked eye. Can you imagine how much more a detector would add to that growing tally ??

Yeah I've seen a video of a girl in Australia find a nice gold nugget dowsing that way. I believe it and her dad who is a gold prospector, was along to confirm it. He can't dowse but 2 of his children can.

Well, if someone in Russia can get access to a gold field like that, sure it's possible. Being Russia I'd want to check everything out first if possible.

I have a gold vein that comes to the surface. Locate the gold vein in the top part of the map. Follow the vein using a S pattern. Look for different, strange formations or different colors
