Map dousing is very simple. Its kinda like playing the stock market. When i play the stock market i just throw a dart at the list of stocks and put my money down. Works every time!

As for photo dousing, get a magnifying glass and look for the sign that says "Dig Here!" If you can't find the sign then their is no treasure. Again, a proven method.

I'm not exactly looking for gold or silver, just some places to narrow down on with a metal detector if possible.

Your overwhelming Best Bet is research. Hit the library.

I have done a bunch of research to find out what is here and cant find anything going as far back as 1874, I believe there was activity here was before 1874. In the second photo on the first post is a cut thru a hill like an old road which leads to an 3 foot wide by 10 foot deep well in a large flat area. I have metal detected the area before and found wagon parts, 10 inch long building spikes, nails, a buckle, and a few more things. here's a few more photos to check out. bhhdihbi.jpg 24862179_737507816445641_4496011232444940308_n.jpg 24796567_737507839778972_1347629474470389689_n.jpg

Hi Brice Alms,
Dowsing revealed a small silver vein, blue line area. Eastern point about 20' deep and deeper going westward.
Blue triangle= concealed shaft (s)
Thank you for posting your picture,

You found the well, sooo, that means that the home should be somewhere near. See if you can find a path from well to home. If you can locate the home, there may have been a cellar also. Some of those old relics make good displays. Clean them good then paint flat black. I found an old hoe one time and the hole for the handle looks to be 2'' diameter. Huge thing, except some of the cutting edge rusted away. Just start making circles around the well if you have no visible path and you might find that the path is very light depending on the soil. Best of luck 16 year old.

Try metal detecting this area.
