Where should I dowse?

I finally figured out the last piece of the my dowsing puzzle. Quantity!!! I knew my element, and I could tell the depth, but I couldn't be certain on digging without knowing quantity. This is it. Strength of signal line right before the object, equals quantity of element signaling.
And now that I know for certain that I can find any lost treasure, meteorite, or ore vein, from a distance, but near location.. I need your suggestions of where to go.

Get a map of your local area and dowse the map using a pendulum.
Then go to the spot indicated on the map.
What I find using the pendulum that the pendulum will give a signal over
"hot" areas on the map, then go there and use the dowsing rods.

My personal opinion.
I've only done that ONCE, but it worked quite well, and I plan on doing
it again in the future.
