Do you think a 2.5 hp motor will work for a 2" dredge? Thanks.

as long as its not a trash pump,you should have lots of suction with a 2.5 i own a 3.5 honda wh-15 pressure model,used it on a keene 2inch dredge.just above idle would outperform the stock 2stroke weedeater pump.am now using same pump to run a 2.5inch combo(g-1) just about half throttle is plenty for that.hope this helps.

A 2.5 will not only run a 2 1/2"dredge BUT also a t-80 air compressor too. I had a puddle jumper tiny unit for many years--cheap to run/move in & out/ and easy to haul in any car even-tons a au 2 u2 -John

Ok thanks for the replies guys. It works great most of the time, but it has this problem where it just shuts off. I hope to show off some of my finds when i can.

clean the carb and tiny grating in gas tank pickup is a usual problem --watch in the tank what level the gas is when it shuts off-big clue to you-does it repeat??tons a au 2 u 2 -John
