at least 3",

I use a 3" in 3"out 14,300 gph pump on my 4" keene dredge. I did use a 2"in 2"out pacer on a 6.5hp honda with air from my 3" dredge on my 4" dredge last year when my old 3" pacer gave me problems, got me thru the last 4 days of vacation . it had plenty of suction, so you could use it on a 4 and I could idle it down real nice to check on the goody tray

Dredge size = x gph on average.

Can you guys give me a quick estimate for Gallons per hour for
2 inch
3 inch
4 inch

Basically if you have about 12k GPH, what sized sucker hose would you want to use in an ideal situation? 2 inch? (Sucking dirt to box)

it's a little more then (gpm) or gph

1: the size of the sluice box in width ( clarkson study 8 yards per foot of width for expanded metal ) take 8 and divide by 12 and times that number by the width of your box it will give you how many yards per hr your sluice box will do
2: nozzel size rule of thumb 1-3 yards or less per in dia and type of Jet single log, tri jet, cupple jet what (psi) clear water pump 84 f of head or dredg pump high psi (50-60 psi)
3: it takes 201.97 gals per yard
4: what is the ground that you are working like ( a lot of sand or a lot of cobble and what size)

just my 2 cents

Bill

The engine size and pump style-along with the manufacturer of said pump predicates who, what and how much. GPM/PSI vary astronomically from style to style/brand to brand-John

For an ideal situation with the right pump = 2½
