He has 3 x 3D printers, designs and manufactures all his parts and is somewhat of an inventor. Above is his initial trommel design. He trialed it a few weeks ago and it works great. He just needs to make a few minor tweaks and will then start building a few as needed. Another one of his projects was converting a snowblower into a mini front end loader. He used it to help put gravel into his high-banker.

Here are a few of his projects he designed, built and utilized in some of his prospecting equipment.

Can you explain it, because I dont understand what I'm looking at. You said a trommel without a battery... I dont see a trommel. It looks like a highbanker. Can you get us some better pics of the trommel and the water motor? It sounds like a great idea.

Here's a video of by buddy's trommel last month. The one you are watching is the older style he made where he uses a battery. The new one works pretty well the same (and same size too I believe) only without using a battery.

I guess I should have said "mini trommel." There's a video below with it in action. It really washes the gravel well before it goes down the sluice.

Here is a photo of the trommel barrel, as well as the water powered motor, and I can grab you some better photos of the regular motor tomorow once I have everything all put together. This machine is definitely one of my favourite builds yet. I post a lot of my latest inventions on our YouTube page, and slowly but surely our videos are improving!!!

That looks like a regular water wheel, a pelton wheel might work better? I was thinking of building my trommel project up as pelton powered after watching a youtube video of a fellow in Finland with a water wheel powered trommel.

I like the mini conveyor you show on youtube. You have a price on it yet? I like to make my own stuff, but sometimes its just easier to buy than to build due to time constraints

Here's another video on the batteryless trommel. I could have used one today. The temperatures are getting below freezing at night. As a result, a lot of the shovels of gravel sometimes clump together, and need a bit of mixing in the shovel in hopper so gold bearing material doesn't go out the back end.
