    Just a thought....Maybe, if you do the research,* you can convince Thompson of a way to ship it to you in Canada without any hassle (assuming that is the problem) on his part(?) or it could be shipped to you "in care of" a designated pickup point (UPS, etc) in Washington if you are willing to make the drive. It may be that the exchange rate is part of his problem and that should be able to be worked out too.
