I've found it's not only important to have the right rpm but you also need a motor that won't eat your battery. The extra expense of a good efficient motor will easily pay off in fewer dead batteries and less strain on your back.

The mid - late 90's BMW Bosch windshield wiper motors expend less energy for the same work and they won't need replacing three times a season like the cheep ones.

The original motors with the cast reinforced reduction assemblies are the best I've found. Here is an example. Notice the sturdy mounts and the threaded and sealed drive shaft. :thumbsup:
