I was out walking my dog on garbage day and went by my neighbors house who is an elderly widow. I found this Snap On tool box loaded with tools placed out for garbage. It had a nice assortment of tools including several I did not have. Wrenches, pliers grips and a pipe chain. Score! Nice find. Now, if you surprised her and gave her a few bucks think about all that Karma you would build! :laughing7:

Sorry - won't accept that excuse. If she is so darn well off - you could at least buy her a new $100,000 car! Again - think about the Karma! :laughing7:

I'll let her new live in boyfriend do that! Maybe she is getting rid of the first husbands items. Maybe I should and see if she had any of his old watches for sale. Hmmm

Wow, Klein pliers, and other goodies.

Looks like her late husband liked good tools.

Normally any boxes I find around here are filled with made in China junk.

I would have been happy just finding the snap on tool box.

Great find!!!

I'd keep an eye on the trash for the next month or so...might be more to come.

So I ran into her and asked her if she intended to throw them away. She said she put them out as she knows someone would pick it up. She is getting married (she's 70) and moving to Florida and was decluttering. The house now has a for sale sign as of yesterday. I thanked her and wished her well.

You can't be serious...

Well, at the beginning of the thread she was listed as an "elderly widow." Being an old fart - I have met a lot of "elderly widows" who are living day to day. My first thought was she was cleaning out the house and simply didn't know what she had. So, when JimDon said he "scored" - my first thought was maybe dropping off a few bucks - it might make the difference between a meal or no meal for that day. So, YES - my first post was very serious. Remember - my first response was BEFORE JimDon's followup comment: "She is very well off. Very very well off."
