    Frame and Art Haul

This was my first attempt at diving, and I tried to make it count! An old frame shop/gallery was clearing out (retiring) and the owner said anything they were getting rid of was up for grabs. So for almost a week I went diving sometimes 2x, 3x, even 5x a day looking through their stuff. The owners were here over 50 years and stuff...accumulated. lol

Hereís an overview, total counts pending:

    -frames
    -signed prints
    -signed and numbered lithographs
    -oil paintings
    -watercolors
    -ink drawings
    -picture frame wire
    -2 cheesy souvenir brothel tokens
    -1 sterling silver Christmas charm
    -embroidery
    -mirrors
    -bankerís chair
    -printing press(?)
    -autographs
    -photographs

Here are some of my favorites:

Great saves! I like them too!

"And so the population was gradually led into the demoralising temptations of arcades, baths, and sumptuous banquets. The unsuspecting Britons spoke of such novelties as 'civilisation', when in fact they were only a feature of their enslavement." Tacitus, Roman Senator and Historian, written AD 98.

The Bald Eagle photo...he/she posed for me, gave me it's best American look. I felt privileged to get the shot.

Thanks guys! Originally I was interested in the frames, they had 4 massive 3x4 foot frames that had nowhere to go. I must have 50 frames altogether. Iíll take pics of some of the cooler looking ones. I thought it was such a shame they were throwing away such beautiful and in some cases, historic pieces. There were newspapers, engravings, photos all dating back to the 1800s. Very excited to post more as I get to sit down and research.
