Hay, I hope you are well, I am a newbie here and I want to ask a question: What are some alternative methods of urban foraging or salvaging usable materials that are not exactly dumpster diving?

Go to local garage sales and see if you can haul off thier leftovers. Most of the time they are downsizing or just cleaning out and just want it gone.

Watch the local craigslist ads, Facebook marketplace for free. I want it close by to be able to get it, most post first come first served. And I don't want to waste gas. Many people will be cleaning up and just want it gone. After a yard sale they will list to take anything you want. I have actually found it to be rare to find a good deal in the listings of not free items, but at yard sales I can still find a deal.
