Sure did get quiet, where's all the water hunters comments? I don't hunt the water, so I can't make an informed opinion about the performance.

That is HUGE... this confirms even my 600 will be a beach killer but am I reading that display correctly? It's ringing up as a 1? So to dig gold chains I need to also dig every piece of iron, staples, crab traps, etc? This would be tough going on my local beaches.

That was impressive. I’ve been sitting on the fence and that just give me a good nudge. One of the better Equinox videos in my opinion. Keeper coming.

Sorry, but I highly doubt your 600 will see the gold chains, it is only using 5, 10 and 15 khz, it does not have the 20 and 40 khz freqs the 800 has, I hope I am wrong and you get them, but I would not hold my breath. I field tested a 800 and buried a thin gold chain length wise 4 inches in dry sand (not at beach) the 800 had no trouble seeing it. I did not have access to a 600 to test, only the 800.

(My comment above is wrong, both 600 and 800 use 5, 10, 15,20 and 40 in Multi-Q. I stand corrected.)

After looking you are correct and I am wrong. Per minelab docs 5, 10, 15, 20 and 40 make up Multi-Q .

Yeah, you can only use single freq of 5,10,15 on the 600...the 800 can use single freq 5,10,15,20,40...in multi freq they both use 5,10,15,20,40.

That's what Im wondering...will it pick up those small chips of iron, foil pieces, tiny aluminum pieces, etc.?...My AT PRO picks up small gold chains but it also jumps between low and mid tone on dime size iron flakes that my CZ21 doesn't hear and I don't want to hear.

I guess I will be digging more small junk in the wet sand along with all of the pull/pop tabs, bottle caps and can slaw lol. I think I will stick to my CTX in the water but still undecided until I give the EQ a try at it.

Wow. That was an impressive video. Keeping fingers crossed that someone with access to an Equinox and a Kruzer can do a similar test side by side. I'm sure that would be of interested to many beach hunters (myself included)

Thanks for taking the time to do this video TN. Your fellow hunters appreciate it!

Still very handy... I've found pendants, gold crosses, etc and know the chain is there too but can never find it.

Now, if I find the cross, I can start listening for iron hits around it and possibly find the chain also.

Fantastic.

Does your 3030 id small iron flakes as iron?...the AT PRO gives low and mid tones on them.

It doesn't chatter like the ATPro on Iron bits and if I see too low of a TID I ignore them and move on. I have scooped a few larger bits of highly rusted iron because they sounded very iffy and I always scoop those just cus I want to know what it is.

Now I would like to see how deep it finds gold in salt water. Will it be close to the depth of the CZ21 and Excalibur? Will hold on to my CZ21 until the verdict is in.

Thanks, back when I used my AT in saltwater I was afraid those jumping low- midtone signals might be gold chains...they were always iron flakes.

Same with me...if its as deep and stable as my CZ21 then Im getting one...my dream detector has always been a 3 pound multi freq with screen...I hate changing batteries in my CZ, its not easy and Im always afraid the gaskets not in place...charging battery without opening anything is going to be awesome.

Ferrous targets have a range of -9 to 0......It was solid at 1 and solid 1+ in subsequent video with it buried.
