Based on my hunts, it is deep for sure. I also suspect it will be deep with the new 6" Smart coil compared to other machines with 6" coils. Can't wait to see what that monster 15 x 12 is capable of too.

Thanks for the Video Calabash, very informative! As you've no doubt read on the forums, a lot of questions about the 600 vs 800, any chance you can secure a 600 to go over the same targets in your test garden as you did with the 800?

This is a great idea!

Another request would be to drop into single frequency use at the 5khz to see if the deep silvers hit harder.

I've been out twice with the Nox. It's impressive for sure.
I had heard some complaints about chatter and freaked out when I started hearing it too. I took out my phone and went online to look at the manual. As my phone was pinging the internet, the machine went crazy. Then I realized the chatter was caused by my phone. I put my phone on airplane mode and the chatter stopped.

Here's a german depth-test video, I think it's done in non-mineralized soil:

The person is also doing similar tests with some other machines for comparison.

I'll take notes a from a real test bed vs one that is not natural.

calabash, one really good and informative video, It would seem that I can do really well with it in any factory pre-set program, and then play around with any other settings when I'm ready to. Your video's are not "showmanship" type video's, but strait forward and helpful, you do help cut a fella's learning curve down alittle. Thank you.

I'm taking mine to the horrid red Virginia dirt. My Deus has been all over this little 12' x 12' patch that produced minies and percussion caps. If the EQ gets anything out of that precise patch, you'll have an excellent comparison. Enough of the no mineral content soil tests already.

But in the "real test bed" conditions can change, some days the weather is hot and the soil dry, on other days it's cold and the soil is wet, maybe the conductivity changes, so how is this good for comparisons? You also don't know if the objects are still in place where you have buried them months or years ago. Earthworms, moles etc. can deepen or bring the metals upwards. In the video it's not comprehensible, how deep the targets really are, so there is also much room for manipulation (this is not an accusation, only in such videos I cannot believe what I can't see)

Not completely sold on the concept of moving the target under the soil vs the coil being moved over a stationary target.
