When the Equinox was revealed last year, I put in a pre-order like many others. The talk from dealers was that Minelab hoped to have the detectors start becoming available in December, sounded great! Then it became "late December" which many took to mean in time for Christmas. Then it slipped into January, then the end of January was put out as we kept waiting. Way back in the latter part of December, I remember someone joking that the Equinox wouldn't be available until the spring equinox (tomorrow, Mar 20th). I said there was no way it would take that long and the delays were just minor ones. :icon_scratch:

Now, I sit here at work on March 19th, the eve of the Equinox. My Minelab EQX800 arrived at the house today, and I get off work tomorrow morning at 7. So, it really did come true even though I never believed it could take this long but I will finally open and hold and caress my Equinox, on the equinox. :tongue3:

So, to whomever it was that made that fateful prediction, I raise my glass to you sir! :occasion14: You are the true prognosticator!:headbang:

Waterscoop I believe was the one who predicted that. Lol.

Congrats. Now the fun begins. I had high expectations and, so far, the Equinox has not disappointed. We'll see what happens this week in relic country. Have a great Equinox honeymoon.

In some circles deploying that kind of logic would considered lunacy.
Mental health professionals would certainly have raised their eyebrows.
Anyway maybe we should be asking Waterscoop for winning lottery numbers ?

You know what they say, there is a very thin line between insanity and genius!

Eh, I'll probably throw away that old CTX now that I have the EQX. It wouldnt even be worth the shipping cost, just tossing it in the dumpster. :laughing7:

Meh. I pulled 2 silver with my CTX on Sunday. And 2 silver on the hunt before that here in NJ. Means nothing.

That being said- my Nox should be delivered tomorrow.

I’ll let you know how it compares on several sites well searched once the weather cooperates...

The promise is that I see with the Nox is that it will be far simpler to use than the CTX. Yep, the CTX is a beast, all those options. Even did the Andy classes. I do love the CTX, but all these new Nox posts make me hungry for change?

Well, Debbie-Downer, I think you missed the point entirely. It's not that I found a silver coin with it, its that I found a silver while I still dont have a clue what I'm doing. Brand new machine, all different sounds, completely different setting. It takes time to learn and become proficient when making major changes like that. I never said it was a great feat, I said I never expected I would find anything good while just out swinging it and trying to figure it out.
