I was out at the beach yesterday and ran into a seasoned veteran detectorist that was questioning the hype around the Equinox 800 and its ability to find gold chains. I hadn't found a gold chain with mine yet so it got me thinking about the type setting needed to hear a gold chain. I had been running my sensitivity low on the beach since I didn't want to hear little chirps from fragments of trash metal or minerals. Today I headed to the beach again and decided to increase the sensitivity and I think it paid off. 4 rings and 2 ear rings silver and the chain is 10K and the 2 pendants and cross are 14K.

dry sand? wet sand? in the water? Congrats on some nice finds!!

I spent about an hour and a half in the water and only ran across a quarter, a dime and a penny. Moved to the surf and wet sand about an hour before low tide and found the gold and silver. The gold was in the surf.
