I use the charger that came with my iPad and iPhone. The larger of the two (iPad) seems to charge faster than the smaller one (iPhone). Best of luck!

I have not been able to source a usb charger locally that meets minelabs specifications.

What have other folks bought and where did you buy them?

I can't believe they don't include one in their package!

As long as you use a USB charger that has an output of 5+ volts and 2.1+ amp you will be fine. For example, my iPad's charger's output is 5.2-volt at 2.1 amps. For the house you can buy any USB charger that plugs into an AC outlet that has a USB charging port of 2.1 or 2.4 amps. The USB port in your computer should be fine, too. For USB charging in the car, most of these charge at 5+ volt and 2.1+ amps. Whatever you do, don't use any USB charger that is under 5 volts and 2 amps. The 1-amp chargers take too long to charger the Equinox battery, which in turn could get it hot.

I seldom use the iPad and iPhone chargers at home. I have a several USB wall chargers such as the ones below, and found locally as well as Amazon:

-Belkin with two 2.4-amp USB ports on top
-APC with two 2.4-amp in front
-ANKER travel charger that plugs into an AC outlet (my favorite so far). Has two 2.4-amp ports in front

By the way, you can also charge your detector using a USB power bank (the ones you can take with you to remote locations to charge your phones and such with a USB 2.1 to 2.4 amps).

I also have three or four cigarette-lighter USB chargers, all of which are either 2.1-amp through 2.4-amp

And here are the specs (don't download the manual from this website, just from the Minelab website):
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1358594/Minelab-Equinox-600.html?page=62

Here is the manual for the Equinox 600/800:

I use my AC charger from my Samsung tablet. (5.0V at 2 Amps) It charges my Equinox in less than 4 hours.

Found some at a Home Depot, works just Dandy, just look for the volts & amps as pointed out by RayinAlaska. I found one that plugs into the wall socket, and it itself has two USB ports along with two regular plug ins.

I use the charger that came with my Motorola G5, 5.0V at 2.0 Amps. With one bar on the battery level it takes between 3,5 and 4,5 hours to charges.

That's what Minelab recommend (5.0-volt at 2.0-amp charging). But any USB charger that's little over 5 volts (below 6 volts) and 2.0-amp current that's below 3 amps, is good.

What you don't want is a 5-volt 1-Amp charger like the older iPhone's and other older cellphone chargers.

1A @ +5V = not good

2A (or a little higher) @ +5V = Good

i ordered a few Samsung 2a chargers off ebay, and a couple cables to make up a cord to charge the detector, headphones, and the 7000mah battery pack i got. Ended up about 25 bucks. 20180602_100455.jpg

the one for the headphones isn't in the pic though

5 volt 2 amp, 1 amp will also work just takes longer to charge.

The small quick charge batteries we have for charging our phones, etc. can they be used on the Minelab 800 for a fast charge?

Yes if they have a capacity greater than 5000 mah (I recommend 10000 mah minimum to account for energy losses while charging) and as long as they can source 2.1 Amps. Check the specs label on the power bank. These properly spec'd power banks can be used to charge the detector while using the detector with some creative power bank mounting arrangement.

Cool.

I was just given a 10,000 mAh, 2.4 amp Quick Charger Output.

Thanks
