I finally pulled the trigger on the 800 last night. I'll get it tomorrow. This cartoon sums up the past 8 hours well :headbang:

Mine is due on Thursday...I’m a wreck! It’s like when our first child was born in 1979. Naw...that was easier than waiting for the Nox to arrive.:laughing7:

You know when you're a detecting addict, when you call in sick so you can be home when it's delivered! :laughing7:

man you are ready for the 800. got it in your profile before you even received it. way to go. Lot of people have the 800/600 and talk about them, but don't update their profile to indicate new ownership.

Think of it this way, relax as your finger nails will last for only so long and the people around you may not put up with you at all! And of course, it will get to you when it gets to you NOT when you expect it to. Best of luck with the waiting and with the new toy!...………….63bkpkr

PS - I have the identical issue with anything I must wait for

It arrived about noon today. It's together and charged. I'll get out for a bit with it tomorrow. Luckily it will at least be 40 degrees and cloudy. The rest of the week and weekend is sleet / freezing rain / snow mix. Why!!!! Why!!!! I forgot to tell Mother Nature this was our inaugural weekend together and we wanted to spend it in the field digging holes?

I'm sure I'll have questions once I get it going. I've definitely been reading a lot and watching a lot of videos.

I got the 6" coil to go with it. I can't wait to give it a try as well. Man, why does it have to get dark so early!

Yep, but last night it was 24 degrees with a steady 15mph north wind gusting to 30. Wind chill was in the low teens to single digits. I'm no wimp but that's just too damn cold!

My new-to-me Nox arrived yeasterday. Got back about 5:00 from running some errands to find it shivering on the front porch next to the door. I brought it in, assembled it and checked to make sure it operates.mall appeared well so I hooked it to the laptop and found that the firmware was current. Left it plugged in since about 6:30 last evening, and it now has a full charge and is resting comfortably on the counter in the utility room.

I’m hoping to get out to try it today, but I’ll just have to see how the wind chill turns out. The high today is supposed to be 31F, so it could get chilly if it’s windy. But you can bet I’ll give it a good shot until my fingers get too cold.
