Price difference between 600 & 800. If you really think about it....

Why this thread? Cabin fever, lot's of rain. So....thinking about the 600 and 800, $650 for the 600, $900 for the 800, OK, we got that. By now we all know the difference between the two, and the 800 has more options, and we all know what they are. OK then, here's the interesting thought. On the 800, you get the "WM08", something I thought I NEEDED before ordering, because I really liked my the Grey Ghost headphones, well.....I used the WM08 one time, and it's been wireless ever since, why? because I've never had wireless before, and really, really like them. IF the WM08 were an "Optional" item to buy, I guess you would knock off about $259 (of which they retail for) off the price of the 800, which then might retail for $640 instead of $899. Now, the EQ 600, at say $650, comes with a crappy $30 set of wired phones. (First thing to replace). IF instead the 600 came with the same Minelab phones that arrive with the 800, (a $139 option) the 600 would THEN be about $710 or about $70 more then the 800. OK then, for me it would be a "no brainer" to order the 800 with all the extra options on that machine over the 600. IN WHICH CASE, I think the 600 would of had NO sales. You COULD also say that if the WM08 were INCLUDED WITH the 600, (at $259 retail) then both the 600 & 800 would price out about the same. All righty then, am I missing something here? COULD it have been a marketing thing to bump sales for the WM08?.....Minelab? anybody? Again, just an interesting thought on a rain day. That's all folks.

More brightness options on the 800.

More choice of frequencies.

Gold modes.

More adjustment options in most modes.

Better to have the extra bits.

Simple...buy the 800...sell the WM08 module for $150-$220 and voila.

Then you got top model for 600 price :-)

Matt.

I too really liked the full wireless. I initially started my first few hunts with the built in speaker since I was just learning the machine and wasn't concerned with faint signals and wasn't anywhere where the noise would bother anyone. Then I switched to the Minelab included bluetooth headphones. While they are pretty fast, I noticed a significant increase in "side-digs", i.e. having to dig a second plug on the side of the original because the lag didn't allow me to pinpoint as well. I have switched to the WM-08 with my favorite headphones and haven't looked back. I see no noticeable lag with it and rarely have to dig more than my first plug. Just my $0.02

I am generally the type to buy the top of the line, after using a White's V3i for a long time. The 800 was a long wait so I bought the 600, and $50 in a set of 4.2 bluetooth headphones. It has been wonderful! I don't need single frequencies of 20 and 40. Not needed for coins and jewelry, plus Multi frequency is simple and amazing in my old hunt spots.

Not unhappy in the least that I didn't buy an 800.

Bought my 600 used for $450 and set of Trond aptx Bluetooth phones for $50 from Amazon. Great phones with no noticeable lag. Does everything I need it to well.

Nothing wrong with the 800 but as long as I get the coil over the target (1st cardinal rule), the rest is up to me anyway. The 600 has served me well to this point. I made my own corded headphone adapter and bartered for a set of KOSS UR-30 headphones. I have not once regretted my decision, just bought what I NEEDED to get the job done... and the 600 is getting the job done big time.:icon_thumleft: Hands down, the 600 is the best bang-for-the-buck detector on the market right now.

We are so alike! LMAO

We are lol. When I bought my bike did I buy the 600? No I bought the 900. Anybody that had a 600 we were asking them why they’re riding their little sister’s bike? But it all started when I bought my 94 Toyota Supra none turbo. The twin turbo was $8000 more I thought they both looked exactly the same who’s gonna know? Well I knew, plus people kept asking me was it the twin turbo? Sold it 3 months later lost plenty of money and bought the twin turbo. Never again I’m always buying the best of something. Should of kept it because it’s bringing over $100k now. Ugggh
