See Post #5

I have tried to look at other threads about this issue, but I cannot seem to find one which directly addresses the issue I am having with pairing.

I have the Nox 800 with the wireless headphones which came with it and the WM 08.
I first paired the headset and they work fine and connected fine. The only issue is the volume in the headsets is about 1/3 louder on the left speaker than on the right speaker. I have swapped it to both sides of my head and had other people listen and they all agreed the left side is louder. The speaker marked ”left” on the headset is slightly louder. Have any of you noticed this or had this issue?

Back to pairing.

After I connected the headset, I turned them off and tried to connect the WM 08. It would not pair. I followed the instructions exactly. Finally, I did the factory reset on the 800 and then tried pairing the WM unit and it paired perfectly and worked fine.

Then, I turned off the WM unit and turned on the headset and no matter what I did, they would not pair. I had to do the reset again and then they paired.

Is this normal? I would have thought, once they were both paired, the 800 would pick up whichever unit was turned on. Is this not correct? Do I have to do the reset every time I switch between them? I cannot find anything in the manual which talks about this issue.

Thanks

I tried again.

The bottom line is which ever of the two units I am using, if it is paired, it will connect and reconnect.

However, I cannot swap between the WM module and the headset with out repairing which ever one I want to use.

Is this the normal operation?????????????????

If you first pair with with the headphones, then with the WM 08 after, then you will need to re-pair the headphones after you do this. You don't need to do a reset.

I believe reading about the pairing and that the headphones can connect to two transmitting devices at once and will remember the last one it was connected to. The WM module can only connect to one transmitting device and must change the connecting signature to a different one than was used by the headphones. The 800 only remembers one device and that is last device it transmitted to and to change it you must do the FR. Take a look in the downloaded manual as well as the headphone and WM manuals. I am pretty sure it is there. I do not have the manuals handy or I would look it up for you.

Yes, I feel stupid. I read the instructions twice but on the third time I found this in the manual:

Page 56
Pairing Wireless Headphones
Pairing the ML 80 headphones is only required at first time use. EQUINOX will then automatically connect to the headphones for all future uses.
Re-pairing will be required if a different wireless device has been connected to the detector (e.g. WM 08), or following detector factory reset.

Thank you for your help and I apologize for being stupid. It just seem logical to me that it should be able to switch between paired devices

Correct, if you pair the WM08, then you will need to re-pair the headphones. EQ always looks for the WM08 first so it will take about 15-20 seconds before it will look for the headphones after it fails to find the WM08.

Just to clarify, it will only look for the WM08 first in pairing mode (5 second long push of the wireless button or following factory reset) or normal wireless mode (short wireless button press) if you have a WM08 paired to the detector and you have not "unpaired" it (which you can only do by factory reset or pairing the WM08 with another detector) even if the WM08 is off. Otherwise, if you only have paired the BT headphones, they will connect quite rapidly to the Equinox after the power-up sequence if the wireless radio is on.
