    Day 7

My finds today from the front and back yard. 2 more rings and a personal best 14 coins (2 dimes, 2 nickels, 10 pennies).

Also, I found something buried about 6 inches deep, which was too embedded in the ground to pull out. Anyone know what it could be?

Check out all paths near house, front, back sides. Along street is often best since where most people walk. Ck near by school yards and parks. Older is even better. Love the hobby.

Yes, it's a grounding stake. It's only about a foot away from a telephone pole. I can't tell without further digging if it is connected, but I'm just going to leave it be. I've already buried it back up.

    Day 8

This is today's finds from the backyard. My first car! Only two pennies. I think the "cross" is a faucet handle.

    Day 9

Detecting in the backyard away from the house. Mostly junk. Only thing of interest is the chain and coin.

    Day 10

I took a couple of day off from detecting. I found a lot of stuff in the backyard, but mostly junk including foil and two tubes. I did find a large circular object and some kind of Bach token. Also, in the very back of the yard was the end of a 6-inch metal pipe. The photo shows the Garret carrot at its mouth.

That looks like Bach to me, not Back. Josh Bach? Johann Sebastian Bach? Some other Bach? Not sure.

That "Bach" item is not a token but likely something that goes with a brass instrument manufactured by Vincent Bach Brass Instrument Company as that appears to be their logo. See this: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...mP8Kr3L9aRckl4

Yes, that's it. The "h" is rather distinctive and matches! Good catch!

So I'm wondering now if there is a musical instrument buried in my backyard.

The Vincent Bach company still exists, so I just sent them a message to see if they can identify which instrument it came from.

@cudamark - I did mistype it, I meant Bach (not Back).
