I will try and check today to see if the warranty will cover it. Minelabs customer service has been very good to me in the past. Darn rocky mountains, I don't hunt but a few times a week. I learned to scrub the ground with my explorer. Plastic spray wears off extremely fast. I hope you all are a little easier on them. IMG_20201122_085023186.jpg

The only problem I've encountered so far with minelab, it that the coil covers don't last. They either fall off (5 x 10 DD) or wear out (9 inch coil). The 9 inch cover wore out in 1 month of beach hunting. (every day, 4 -6 hours per day). At least the White's last for about 2 seasons.
That's an easy one. The White's never wear out cause it's in the closet while you're out swinging the Minelab. ;D (sorry, couldn't resist)

...I suppose that if one beats the ground with his detector or likes to wear the coil out by using his coil as a scrub brush (just for fun) that it may be better to use several layers of coil covers to overcome his compulsive behavior, but usually most people don't do that...

Coil covers are cheap and they are designed to ware out.
I agree with Badger.
If you are not scratching the cover it’s in the closet.

Only problem I have with my cover is that after a day at the beach, it takes an act of congress to get it off for cleaning. My excal cover was never that tight, never fell off but came off easily for cleaning

I just drilled a bunch of holes in mine. It flushes out with a hose pretty good that way without having to remove it.

I filled all the cavities in my 11” with silicone and now I never have to remove it but just once a year.

I actually like mine that tight. I lost one once and didn’t know about it for a week

Really?

It takes like 5 seconds to take it off.

Yup, and then another few minutes to get it back on again! :laughing7:. I find with my way, I don't have to mess with it at all.
