I have been using the Equinox 2 tone setting at some area ghost towns I've been hunting, and have been having some pretty good success. I'm just curious if anyone else uses it too. 50 tones is out for me on these spots, too much trash signals. Even 5 tones is borderline getting too noisy. Digging every repeatable target in Field 1/ Two tones has led to some really decent finds. Who else likes it?

I used to use it quite a bit with my Etrac. Mostly at the beach where a target was either ferrous (not dug) or non-ferrous (always dug). For some reason, I haven't tried it with the Nox. I like the 50 tones so much that I just haven't felt the need I guess.

Thanks for the reply. I love the 50 tones at the old park, but in the ghost town it's a little overwhelming. Yes, either non-ferrous or ferrous. Been finding some cool items like stick pins, collar studs, and old silver coins! Two tones seems to smooth things out for me, and doesn't give me sensory overload.

I use it jewelry hunting at the freshwater lakes I hunt, I dig everything from 0 and up. I don't need multiple tones to tell me a ferrous from nonferrous target.

If on land, I use 5-tones, but at the beach or in the salt water I use 2-tone exclusively.
