Mitch Mitchell (ex Jimi Hendrix drummer) dead at 61

sad news today. Mitch Mitchell died of natural causes in his hotel room a few days ago. he was the last surviving member of the original Jimi Hendrix Experience. i met him once in the 80s and he was a very humble guy. i was sad to hear of his passing.

I never knew the drummer. But I was in the army with James Hendrix. He was in the barex next to mine. He was friends with a guy in my company so I got to talk to him every now and then.

Yeah, he was living in Ireland not far from me when he died. Their all gone now, what a great, great band the Jimi Hendrix Experience was.

Listen to "Fire" and you can see he was an incredible drummer.

He and his old bandmates are back jammin' like the old days.
