don't worry too much, this is the exception rather than the norm.

Not a fabrication, just a unknown injury and that can't be attributed to the spider itself.

I have seen some nasty KNOWN spider bites that are freaking discusting, and almost that bad.

that's possible, most doctors can't tell a bite.
I've got brown recluse spiders in my house. once in, you can't get rid of them. they are very good at hiding
anyway, I've never been bitten and neither have my kids

If you've ever seen a field in September overrun by the golden orb weavers or black and yellows at sunrise it's magical. Two to three foot webs in every direction at every angle and with a bit of morning dew their sparkel is awesome.

i have nursed a few friends who were bit by a recluse...nasty wound...if you allow it to heal over...you can end up looking like this photo...

keep the wound open, saline solution...NEVER let it scab over...let it drain...

As a nurse, I have taken care of two patients so far this year, that have been biten by brown recluse spiders. Both said that they were biten months to years ago and that the wounds have been slow to heal. With both of them, they were on several antibiotics, skin care teams, and plastic surgeons have been brought in for their expertise. From what I remember, they were both fairly deep wounds.

I live next to a river and as a rule,I dont kill spiders at all.
The spider population is mind boggling coupled with the amount of flying and crawling insects!
The amount of bugs they cut down in and around the house beats pesticides any day :icon_sunny:
