Man pays $72 for a taco, says 'Merry Christmas'

SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) -- So much for the value menu. A Taco Bell manager in Ohio says a man who appeared drunk walked into the restaurant earlier this week and handed him $72 for just one taco. The manager tells police near the northern Ohio town of Sandusky that the customer who seemed to be in his early 20s refused to take back the money and told workers "Merry Christmas."

Police are holding on to the money as evidence and say if it's not claimed in 60 days, the store manager will get a late Christmas gift.

::)

whatever.....

In other words, "police didn't know WHAT the hell to do, and figured it would be in the news, so this was 'procedure"

I Think the Police want to Find him
to charge him with Public Intoxiction.
For being so Drunk he gave a gift
and it wasn't to them.

Excellent - another cop-bashing opportunity!

I guess there is no chance the taco-place didnt feel right about keeping the kid's money and the cops thought they would give the kid some time to get it back. Since the cops were called for such an idiotic thing in the first place - what would you have them do? Holding it as evidence means it's tagged and accounted for - not in someone's pocket.

If they did'nt do anything someone would complain about that too.

:D

No I'm not cop Bashing here Jim Just
partially Joking of course.

& your probably right as to why
they called the Cops. Personally
Though I Would have Kept it.
IF HE came back and asked for it
Would be different. then I'd give it back.

I removed my post almost immediately.

After almost 25 years of wearing the badge also I simply react too quickly.

Besides - I've come to the reality that nobody cares anyway so I'm trying to hardly post/react anymore. :) I've learned to hold my tongue (mostly).

It just didn't need to be said.
