Warning !
If you have a Propane heater like This.

Picture 008.jpg

When they Installed it they Used
plastic Hangers like this

Picture 007.jpg

to fasten it to the Paneling
not to the Beams.

Was sitting here on the Computer when
it just dropped of the wall onto
its Face & Flames Shot out Everywhere.

After the 10 Second Shock
I Walked in Picked it up & Tried to turn it off.
the Pilot light refused to go out for awhile.

Finally got it out And used a 2X4
to make a Better Back Brace.

If this would have happend 6 Hours Earlier
I Probably wouldn't have Known it
unless the Propaine tank outside Exploded before
my house was Engulfed.

This Hung for over 10 Years like
a Time Bomb waiting to happen

Dang, Jeff! :o I'm sure glad you were home when this happened. If you have anymore like that heater, I would be checking out the installation on those too. Always pays to be safe.

my other one was a stand alone which
i just replaced a few weeks ago.

Fairly confident I'm safe Now.
got 5" Nails holding the bracket to a 2X4

don't smell Propaine
so I'm hoping it didn't break loose at
the Conection when it fell,
should be Absolutely sure in the Morning,
after sleeping in fresh air upstairs all night,
i'm sure i'd smell it tomorrow
if the bathroom fills with propaine

Jeff - Glad things didn't go worse.

At least check the fittings and any possible compromised line with a solution of heavily soapy water. Brush some of the soapy water on and look for bubbles to appear. If you see any bubbles turn off the propane source and repair.

Remember that propane is heavier than air. If there is a leak it will settle down low and you may flip a light switch and boom.

If you blow yourself up, I for one with no supervision, will run amuck on this board. ;D
