8.8 and tsunamis

8.8 earthquake hit outside of Chili.

Hawaii is currently preparing for a 1-7 foot tsunami.

And a tsunami warning was already out for the earlier 6.9 quake in Japan.

It's (the quake) was off the coast of Chile, which is quite a ways away - I'm just amazed at how far it has traveled so far.

There have been thousands of after shocks already - 8.8 - just makes you think. I was watching some of the pictures - in Chile, it looks like (and the authorities are currently saying) that the damage looks worse than they would expect.

Luckily, it was not a populated area, the the quake was deep (not like the one in Haiti) - but 8.8 - sheesh.
