bears are bad critters * to cross in the wilds of alaska --they can , will and have eat folks. -- when a unarmed person meets a bear in alaska guess whos #2 on the "food chain?"

Your comment just made me think of the difference between meeting a bear in the 'wild' and one in captivity - you could never trust either surely?
And yet some people trust Orca in captivity - whereas they are possibly safer to greet in the 'wild'
('wild' equalling natural environs ::) )

PS as a seaman --I know "killer whales" are called that for a reason.
