Re: What's For Dinner?

Leftover pot roast with taters, carrots and gravy. Biscuits and rice smothered with the gravy.

And for desert, buttered biscuit and Yellow Label syrup.

Or, I could always eat the leftover spaghetti. :tard:

Re: What's For Dinner?

A few beers at the local bar. Cheesesteak sub with the works to go.
Built a fire outside in the pit and enjoyed it very much while listening to the evening birds and looking at the almost full moon.
Now I'm ready to sleep.

Re: What's For Dinner?

Just fired up the grill and threw 5 pork ribs on. Each is as big around as a baseball bat and about 12" long. A good lathering of home-made BBQ sauce and slooooow cooked.
Some "peaches and cream" corn on the cob, sliced cukes and iced tea. Oh, and a big hunk of watermelon for dessert!

Best Wishes,
Scott

Re: What's For Dinner?

Fresh navy beans from the elevator, last years crop.
Soaked and drained, onion, ham and spices in and simmering.
Might toss in some chopped carrots and celery.
Add shredded cheddar when ready to eat.

Re: What's For Dinner?

have been trying to eat better so I can lose weight. so no more white foods, like white rice, 'taters, white bread etc. never liked white bread, & love brown rice, there's no prob there, but 'taters?? :crybaby2: so I eat them at the most once a wk. so far I have lost almost 30 lbs! tonight I will have chard stuffed w/ rice (brown of course) mushrooms, the chard stalks, garlic & squid, lemon juice & fresh parsley. sounds wierd, but very good. the squid can be tough so I chop it very small, & mix w/ the other ingredients. dip chard in hot water just to make pliable, lay out chard & place spoonful of stuffing on it. roll tightly, & place in steamer. doesn't take long to cook. you can replace squid w/ shrimp, or white fish. use cheese if wanted, I like parmesan. salt & pepper to taste.
I have a hankerin' for fried okra, so will blow the diet tomorrow, heck, might as well have baked 'tater too! (& chocolate! where's the chocolate in this house!)

Re: What's For Dinner?

My Son and Daughter voted for boxed macaroni & cheese but that's not a meal.

I'm going to make some potato's, eggs and deer steak instead. I'll use the skillet for the taters & eggs and use the George Forman grill for the steaks(were out of propane for the outdoor grill).

Have a good supper folks.

Re: What's For Dinner?

Tonight it was home-made stuffed cabbage, or as the locals here call them 'hunkey hand-grenades'.
Served with mashed taters covered in the red to'mater sauce & canned whole kernel corn.
And rinsed down with a big glass of ice-cold moo-juice (milk).

Hard day at work, so we ordered from local pizza place.
A Reuben sandwhich and a large taco salad.
Late meal and early to bed.
