Most likely the bumps you are seeing is a localized cellulitis beginning. This sometimes happens when the exudate from the wound is trapped and cannot get out. It can become systemic which is not a good thing. Sounds like your doctor did what needed to be done.....

Honey works as a topical antibiotic. Manuka honey works both internally and externally, for minor problems

When you take antibiotics, you need yogurt every day to avoid the problems mentioned. My wife's foster mother, well into her 90's, almost died of antibiotics. She became thin as a rail, and we all thought she was dying. She heard something about probiotics, got some, and quickly regained her health.
