Greetings here is a video of the ice-breakers breaking the ice on the St. Clair River on Jan 16, 2011 clearing
a way for the freighters to get through. With such a long cold spell this year with the temps being so far
below the freezing point, the ice has really been building up in the lakes and is drifting into the river. Then
there are several other videos to click on if you want to see more. You can hear some of the Coast Guard
guys and freighter captains talking on their radios. These scenes are photographed from choppers overhead.
