@Red James - There's a reason that any nations army has never been anywhere near 180 million strong, and that's because most of them don't enjoy the fact that the other side can shoot (stab,bludgeon,trample,strangle etc) back!
Most of your 180 million would rather just hand over the gun than risk death,injury or just trouble! Even in Stalin's Russia in WWII, where many were forced into the fight and shot by their own side if they went any direction other than forwards..couldn't get close to your numbers,lol

Maybe i should of stated it happening in a damned if you do , damned if you dont situation.The russians also made them walk through mine fields to clear them.Those people didnt have a choice ,they werent armed. You dano have never been armed ,unless military,so it is pretty much impossible for you to have any idea about it, or to realistically imagine yourself in that position.
As for the FBI or ATF surrounding my house,I just wouldnt be here if they came looking :laughing9: My advanced warning system works very nicely,my brother is the chief of police :wink:

Tayopa i dont think there is any possible or feasible way to trace every firearm in this country,200 million lawful guns most likely would equal to 100 million unlawful blackmarket guns, not to mention the 500,000 give or take home manufactured guns built over the years. Not to mention all of the guns sold in private sales and dealer sales long before the gun control acts in which there is no paper work what so ever or the paper has long been destroyed. And private sales right now in alot of states that require no paper work. It would be a paper work nightmare for 3 generations of ATF agents to go through for the duration of their careers just to get all the facts on a hard drive. It would be like looking for a handful of 100 year old needles in yellowstone park. It couldnt be done,and if by the time they did do it,whatever reason they were doing it for would long be over. I'll take the 10 years :wink: But they have to catch me first :laughing9:

Ooohh...the UN are gonna come take ya guns. That's us! Now won't that be a kick in the a$$ for ya when i give you hell for it on here in a few years time? :laughing9: ::)

If the impossible ever happened and they/we tried to take all your guns, most people would bury their stash. That opens up a huge new business opportunity to metal detectorists! You could travel the country charging $50 per gun found. Some of you could become outright millionaires according to Red James' statistics!!! :o

Dano, I know the perception and all. I've had the nickname for years though. In the old southern vernacular bubba means brother. It generally refers to a kinda friendly and straight forward man. How that all changed I have no idea.

Actually Dano my numbers are probably not to far off. I didnt even bother adding in war souvenirs brought home since the spanish american war, the phillipines, The boxer rebellion, WW1, WW2 , korea ,vietnam. I'll even bet theres quite a few Thompson smgs out there packed away in somebodies closets or basement since the thompson smg could be bought off the shelf with no paper work required,when it first came out.Theres probably also quite few BARS out there tucked away someplace. Dillinger use to break into national guard armories to resupply.His gun of choice the BAR. He would steal them by the case. As far as homemade guns go,give me 2 pieces of pipe and a end cap and i can make you a shotgun in an hours time.Not to mention the blackpowder revolvers that can easily be converted to fire cartridges.

I guess you dont remember that you guys already tried that twice already,the revolution and again in 1812. How did it work out for you ? Not to good.Yamamoto is credited with saying ,"If we invade US soil there will be a rifle behind every blade of grass". He never said it , but the saying is true. Find a russian vet from russias invasion of afghanistan,ask him how he felt,then multiply that by 1000. Thats how the foreign troops in the USA will feel if push comes to shove. A guerrilla war cannot be won.

I should of also added ,the estimated strength in 1944 of the french resistance was 400,000 members. Take my conservative number of 80 million gun US owners. Even if only 10% resisted thats still 8 million armed resistors, almost as many as the entire US army strength,counting the marines, had mobilized at the end of ww2. compared to that number the UN forces are a :laughing9: joke.

Red: In response to your post --> Tayopa i dont think there is any possible or feasible way to trace every firearm in this country
****************
Agreed, but psychologically they will get most of them from the Pavlovian response by the American public. the rest from neighbors or even your kiddies who are being trained to be informers, even on their own famlies, such as many were under Hitler and Stalin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You also posted -->Not to mention the blackpowder revolvers that can easily be converted to fire cartridges.
***********
Why convert them for what would be hard to find cartridges? Black powder, or it's equiv, would be easy to manufacture.
cowboy .45 colt long cartridges smokeless powder loads 750 -800 fps 312 pounds muzzel energy can safely be fired in steel frame blackpowder revolvers. homemade blackpowder is relatively easy to make, good for the muzzel loading single shot rifles.just remember to wet the batch you make into a heavy paste (mix well)and form it into cakes.let the cakes dry ,the dangerous part is crushing the cakes into powder granules ;D :wink:
... Yeah, but your saviours..the French...are with the UN now. You're in trouble! :laughing9:
(There's actually people in the politics forum who are scared of Obama's plans for the UN right now. I think it's laughable really, but then if they get presidential and governmental backing...who knows?)
Everybody knows that we've already had one revolution, we got to half time and some one forgot the orange slices, so we went home. Then we tried world domination, got two thirds of the way through that. Brought sanitation, education, new vinication ( the manufacture of wine ) and alas sublimation to the known world, and they weren't grateful, so we said *uck you and went home. Then we sold off our conquests to the new "colonies" to pay off our debts for someone coming in at the the last minute to make movies about how they saved the world. I don't know about you, but I prefere blackbean sauce ;D
They know if they tried that, we'd take theirs.... ;D
" Dear UN,
We don't mind you stationing your troops here, it's just that when they all defect at once, it will cause a serious problem for Immigration."
The fact of the matter is the French fleet at the Chesapeake Capes driving off the British fleet carrying reinforcements and munitions made the victory of Washingtons army possible. Had the British been either reinforced or evacuated the Revolution would likely have failed.
