Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

This is going to be one great contest. I went through my displays after looking at what had been posted so far and I have decided I really don't have a most unusual find. I did find a boat trailer buried in the side yard of an old abandoned house. It was one of my first finds. Hope everyone will put up a pic of their unusual find to share. Jeff

Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

Great finds everyone. This is one of my more unusual finds.
Its a lead advertising turtle scripted "Cadillac Casket Co".
Makes sense I guess...A body encased in a shell??
I found this at an old MI. logging camp.
Also found a leash attatched to the remains of an animal once.
More gross than unusual...Sorry...no pic.
Happy 4th.....Joe

Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

Wow, there are some pretty strange and cool things in this competition. I have only been metal detecting for just over a week so I do not have the wealth of time and experience but I was pretty happy to see this come out of the ground. I found it in my own back yard at about 4 inches. It's a stand for an old flat iron. Good luck all!

Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

Here's my most unusual find so far. The beaver trap! (http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,37553.0.html) Actually I don't really know if it was used to hunt beavers, maybe coons, muskrats, possums, or even the occasional werewolf! Here, the donkey from Shrek is demonstrating.

Found near an abandoned cabin a mile or so out in the wilderness. It wasn't completely underground when I found it, but it was my detector that alerted me to it, good thing I wasn't discriminating iron at the time!!

Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

That'd be a winner fer sure if you got a pic! Beeps from its intestines huh? Only possible explaination is if it consumed some sort of appliance or electronics................my guess would be a cell phone or toaster. lol ;D

Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

Here's one of my cool finds.

I found time...
A 22 year metal calender
from The Hayden Planetarium.

1944 to 1966.

You can turn the wheel and line up
the days of the week and month.
