Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

Dug this Indianhead coin but it's not an Indianhead penny. It's a token made on the front to appear almost like an Indianhead. It's the same size and seems to be copper or copper/bronze but the edge is reeded.
It's dated 1863 on front and on the back it has "Detroit City Flour Mills - COR. LARNED & 2' STS."

Kind of unusual...

Sorry, but I don't have a pic To go along with this story, but thought that I would share with the members as it is a most unusual find at least to me.

Back in late 1980's early 1990's I was out with a friend and hunting partner looking for shed antlers that male deer lose in late winter. We were on a family members property and following a creek through a overgrown swamp. My friend was on the opposite side of the creek and ahead of me just a bit, when he tells me that their is a dead deer carcass ahead of me on my side and to check it out. As I get it in my view it looked like a old bottle dump as it was very glassy looking and greenish in appearance. Mind you I have not even gotten close to it yet so I have know idea what lays ahead. I finally get up to it and he asks me if it was a buck or a doe. Well it was neither as it was human skeletal remains. He about freaked and started saying that I was BS'ing him and when I told him to get over here right now, I swear that he never even touched the water coming across the creek.
Long story short, the remains belonged to a person who was involved in a traffic accident and he decided to walk home across the swamp. Obviously he did not make it and died from exposure.
Talk about weird finds. I do have the news article somewhere, but finding it would be a chore.
Just thought I would share.

It all depends on the age of the find. If it's still got signs of meat on it it's gross. If it's mummyfied and found in a tomb then it's cool.

No meat on the skeleton that I could see, although I wasn't looking at it rally close enough to find out. The guy I was with was totally freaked out and was worried that the missing guy was murdered and the person who committed the crime was around and watching. Heck we had to help the cops across the creek and show them where the body was and then go into town via the PoPo Limo service and give our statements. Boy did we look great in our wading boots and such. LOL
Turned out the guy had sat down by a tree and passed out. They had searched the area with dogs shortly after he turned up missing.
Most missing persons are found by hunters in the fall or by mushroom hunters in the spring.

Some of you may think what is so unusual about tweety bird ??? Well the unusual part is that I dug this last year at a playground and it has my name on it, it is all intact and not broken. How many of us can say we have done that. ;) :D

AP, One more that I thought was unusual. This was found at the same location as my other post on this thread. It came from an old civil war army depot.
