Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

This was a pretty cool find. I don't expect to find any more. It is a WWI medal given to veterans in 1919. I found it in a park. I included a picture of the front and back as well as a picture of what it used to look like. On the back it says "THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILIZATION" then lists the countries that fought in WWI

Found this last fall. It was my first dollar find and my first gold coin all in one.

Pete2010 reminded me of probably my most unusual find. I found this in a small park in Tampa. It made me wonder, someone went to Alaska (4790 miles away, can't get much further without crossing water) picked up this beautiful souvenir only to lose it in a park ??? .

Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

Maybe I should change my story to make it more interesting.

It was in great shape I only had to clean a little dried blood off it ;D

Not really, buried about 4" down. When it came out it was bent in the shape of a U.
I straightened it out and buffed it up.

Good Luck and HH

Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

Since my chickens didn't use a metal detector to find the creepy teeth I figure that entry wouldn't count , so here's my other unusual find .
I found the big part about 2 feet from my porch steps in fall of 2004 , it was about 4-5'' deep . The following spring I decided to replace the old steps . After removing them I got my detector out to check the area . I found her face about 2'' down . It took me a while to find where I put the big part . I finally found it in one of my many junk drawers ....... perfect match! I still can't figure out how it could of broke ?

Remember the odd pyramid that I found at the beach? Turns out it is a powerful shark repelling talisman! I've had it on my porch here in Western Pennsylvania, and I haven't seen a single shark...

Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

Well since the contest being extended I figured I would enter one more. I had been looking for these for quite awhile ;D .
I was quite surprised when I found them in such good shape. They don't look like they've hardly been used. Must have been lost by some married man ;) .

Actually I don't even know what they are!!

Good Luck and HH

Re: Contest.................."PIC OF YOUR MOST UNUSUAL FIND"

Took a quick day trip yesterday to Butte Montana to pick up my father, bring him to my tar paper shack for a couple weeks visit. We got home late, after midnight so LQ is down & out for a few more hours. When she gets up she will get to the judging & she will post the winners, sorry for the delay.............the waiting is the hardest part. Someone should write a song about it. ;D
Gotta go show Pop around town, he wants to see "my lil Idaho", shouldnt take but about 20 mins..................small hick town. ;D
