Re: Fishing!
Fishing is magical. The sights, the adventure, the exploring. Toss in a quiet, clean little lake or a secluded stretch of river and it becomes an expedition. Fishing is one of the simple pleasures in life, or perhaps it would be better to say, "Fishing is one of life's true prizes."

You're alright dallgire. Every generation of my family has fished. Not so much for sport, but for food, but we did enjoy catchin them. I like Brad Paisley, but if I could figure out how to post a video, I would post Taj Mahal's 'Fishin Blues'.

In Austin lakes, there are not a lot of overhanging trees (specially in Lake Austin)... but recently, because of the drought, I've been told that more an more insects have migrated toward the shore to stay near water. This makes for good trolling. I haven't been this year, but I've heard that with the receding lake levels, the fish are more abundant.
I have fished all my life and love taking kids with me. One of the many great sites in life is watching a kid at one end of a pole and a 2-lb trout at the other end. Always puts a smile on my face. Couple weeks ago I took a grandson and his cousin fishing. We got 15 and I let them reel in my limit. His cousin had never caught so many fish and is ready to go again.
Took a granddaughter fishing some time back. It started raining and we were the only people on the lake. After a while we stood there and I wrapped my jacket around her as well as myself to help keep her warm. We only caught one fish that day but I remember her saying, "Papa, fishing's the best thing huh?" I could go on and on.
