I had a complete computer crash some few weeks ago and got literally dozens of emails and well wishes from many of the Tnet membars. Instead of trying to answer them all individually, I will post this not to everyone:

I have been on crutches and unable to walk for over a year in the near past. I went to an orthopedic surgeon who operated on my knee with absolutely no improvement. I later found out that the knee surgery was completely unnecessary! So I went doctor shopping, first kto a spinal surgeon who said I had a type of incurable arthritisand sent me to a rhumatologist. The rumatologist said I did not have the incurable arthritis but that both my hips were completely worn out! So I went to a hip and bone specialists who replaced both my hips with artificial sockets. I am now about 80% pain free and I am told that it will take the better part of a year to be back near 100%. I can now walk with the aid of a cane, but not very far or very fast at a time. I can get by in the house without the cane if I have to. I am not allowed to bend or stoop beyond 90 degrees therefore pretty much eliminating my detecting until next spring. But it is such a relief to finally know what was causing my problems and to find a solution was almost in the miracle cartegory! I was in constant severe pain for over a year before I finally found a real doctor who knew what to do to relieve my pain. While I was practically an invalid for so long I put on about 40 lbs and my leg muscles deteriorated to the point that I am still very weak. So it will just take time. Thanks again for all the well wishes and inquiries of concern for me. It was much appreciated. Monty

Hello Monty, Real sorry to hear about all the pain you went through and am real glad that you are now on the mend. Take
good care and follow that doctor's orders and maybe you will soon be able to run down those squirrels instead of wasting
bullets on them. LOL. You will be in my prayers for a complete and speedy recovery.

It is good to hear from you again. :hello2:

Take care and wishing you all the best,

Ray

OMG Monty! Doctors suck until you get a good one. Thankfully you did. You're one of the lucky ones. Some folks never find the answer to their pain. I'm happy for you. At least a lot of your recovery will be during the winter months. I have no doubt that you will be up and detecting sooner than you think. :laughing7:

For those of you that don't know Monty, you should read this post. I still laugh every time I read it. It's my favorite post on all of Tnet

Glad to see you're back. I know what you've been through. I've got a LOT of old injuries. Doc's took me off pain meds, did the alcohol thing for some easement, went nuts. Finally got a needle doc (accupuncture) and finally found the cause of the difficulty. It was an infected cyst, and my immune system was attacking ALL the joints in my body. It'll get better... it did with me, but it took a lil' time. Get well. Life is still good.

Good to hear. Get up to Colorado sometime, look me up, and we can compare notes about the old days in Oklahoma law enforcement. Take care, have a good day today and a better day tomorrow!

Monte,

Glad you're on the mend and looking forward to swing'in in 2012 ! :icon_sunny:

Another positive aspect to rehab (in addition to healing) is that you will have more time to reply to some of the more high-tech metal detecting questions......your specialty !

Thanks for all your help in the past.

Happy Holidays !

Todd
